'In season 2 of "Hyeongsuda," an unusually large-scale case that enraged everyone is introduced.'
On the 13th, E Channel's original web variety show Hyeongsuda season 2 (hereinafter "Hyeongsuda2"), which is released through the YouTube channel "Detectives' Chat," will feature Bupyeong Police Station's women's and youth team superintendent Lee Kyung-ro and Kim Nam-il.
Before introducing the case, Kim Nam-il reveals a special connection, saying he and Superintendent Lee Kyung-ro "have met twice." Kim Nam-il explained, "When I was playing in Incheon, he was close with the coach," and Ahn Jung-hwan joked, "I thought you caused the accident," prompting laughter.
Regarding the case introduced that day, Superintendent Lee Kyung-ro said, "This is the most memorable case in my 30 years as a detective. It's the number one most regrettable case." He continued, "I happened to see Professor Lee Ho appear on You Quiz on the Block recently, and while listening to him talk about autopsying bodies, it seemed like the case I had worked on. It was a case he handled when he was at the National Forensic Service Gwangju Research Institute," he explained. Kwon Il-yong added, "Professor Lee Ho actually autopsied more than about 4,000 bodies. He was involved in so many cases that this was one he singled out to talk about."
The case began with a report in 1999 that a robber had broken in. A robber entered the bedroom of a sleeping couple and struck the husband's forehead three times with a hammer, and when the husband resisted, the robber fled. There were no signs of forced entry or stolen items in the house. Because it differed from typical robberies, detectives who suspected something checked the couple's call records and found that the wife had frequently called her younger brother and a man. In particular, it was revealed that the wife had also spoken to the two the day before the incident, and it was confirmed that the three phones were connected to the same base station at the time of the robbery.
The wife denied knowing the man she had called but eventually confessed that he was her lover. The robber who entered with a hammer was the lover, and the wife, the lover and the wife's younger brother had conspired together. After the wife's confession, the two readily admitted it, and the husband recovered safely.
But the case did not end there. As Superintendent Lee Kyung-ro said, "You must hear this case to the end," their attempt to kill the husband was not the first. There had been another attempted murder. During the investigation, additional evidence of wrongdoing and a hidden case were revealed, shocking everyone. Kim Nam-il also reportedly said, "This is not something a human should do," in anger.
Why they tried to kill the husband, and what the continued attempts and hidden incidents were, can be found in full on "Hyeongsuda2."
Meanwhile, "Hyeongsuda2" can be watched every Friday at 7 p.m. on the YouTube channel "Detectives' Chat." Also, "Brave Detective," which shares the same universe with "Hyeongsuda2," returns with a new fifth season. "Brave Detective 5" will premiere on the 27th at 9:50 p.m. and will also be released on major OTTs such as Netflix, TVING and wavve.
