Former model and television personality Joo Woo-jae of "Save Me! Homes" reminisced about the past in Myeongdong, which used to be a mecca of street fashion.
On the episode of MBC's "Save Me! Homes" that aired on the 12th, actors Lim Won-hee, Ahn Jae-hyeon and Joo Woo-jae were shown scouting Myeongdong, Seoul's representative commercial district.
Arriving at a place filled with memories from his days as an aspiring model, Joo Woo-jae expressed delight. Joo Woo-jae said, "There were people who dressed unusually and did nothing but stay here," describing how aspiring models used to circle the area to get photographed.
Joo Woo-jae said, "It was when online magazines were becoming active," explaining that those people were waiting to have their photos taken. Ahn Jae-hyeon, recalling a time when it was nearly impossible for newcomers to appear in magazines, agreed enthusiastically with Joo Woo-jae's remark, adding, "Online magazines were the easiest to access."
Joo Woo-jae mentioned, "I was first photographed over here." He continued that someone approached and asked, "Could you take a picture?" and he replied, "Then I'll take it for you," revealing the situation. He said that, suspicious of the stranger's request, he took the photo with a sour expression, which sent the audience into peals of laughter.
He said he was photographed again the following week, and listening quietly, Lim Won-hee delivered a cutting line, "So this is ultimately self-praise, isn't it?" which embarrassed Joo Woo-jae.
