Professor Lee Hoseon gave a six-question, six-answer direct interview ahead of the comeback of "Lee Hoseon's Cider," returning stronger on March 14.
SBS Plus' "Lee Hoseon's Cider" features Professor Lee Hoseon and broadcaster Kim Jimin as two hosts delivering unconventional "cider solutions," a real talk counseling show that crisply addresses viewers' frustrating worries. After its first broadcast on Nov. 29 last year, it received praise for opening a new horizon for "reality-focused counseling entertainment" by delivering dense counseling that ranges from empathy and anger to laughter and consolation.
In this regard, Professor Lee Hoseon offered his characteristic cider remark about his feelings on returning to "Lee Hoseon Cider," the program's differentiating points, and the biggest changes.
Q1. "Lee Hoseon's Cider" returns on March 14. What are your feelings and what do you expect?
It's the cider comeback that will pull life along more refreshingly. I hope the new cider will be a process of finding answers that are more realistic and more hopeful. Rather than focusing on enormous incidents, I want to step more deeply into the small, everyday pains and share more powerful changes and perspectives.
Q2. Will there be major changes or differentiating points in the returning "Lee Hoseon's Cider"?
If the previous cider focused on villains, jolting social wrongdoers and relationship villains awake, the new cider will, like opening a refrigerator and drinking immediately to quench thirst, put a magnifying glass on the small and large worries that occur more commonly in daily life. Above all, we bring people with concrete life problems directly to the scene, listen to their voices directly, hear with our ears, feel with our skin, and join with eye contact and breathing. We look at the problems, share solutions, share hope, and together at the scene share the rebound and refreshment that comes from empathy.
Q3. What do you think is the advantage of "Lee Hoseon's Cider" compared with other counseling programs?
King Gwanggaeto of Goguryeo expanded territory and roared across the East. Cider combines counseling and coaching and is a crossover of the most professional perspective and the most everyday perspective. It does not end in anger but keeps a corrective and change-oriented view. I think its strength is connecting the most everyday matters with professional analysis and not forgetting everydayness and universality even within the most pathological things.
Q4. You reunited with comedian Kim Jimin, who drew attention for her perfect chemistry. What do you see as the synergy points? What are Kim Jimin's strengths?
Could there be a more joyful union? Jimin is the essence of a comedian. Her sudden charm and intelligent beauty, honesty and overflowing wisdom, and the sparkle that follows whenever her quick wit is displayed. Jimin's seriousness and full empathy and the refreshing swearing balm hidden in her sharp sounds convey viewers' emotional language exactly. She healthily moderates the weight that my stiffness and excessive absorption might impose, and with a boldness only a comedian can show, she highlights points in each case. Her mere presence is synergy; I am amazed whenever I see Jimin, who is already a counselor.
Q5. Through "Lee Hoseon's Cider," you unreservedly share honest anecdotes about your family, which seems to make the solutions more relatable. How did your family react?
Actually, I am the type who cannot bear to watch programs I appear in with my eyes open, and my family is the same. So my family's daily life is no different from before. I sometimes talk foolishly about my family, but even that I hope will help viewers.
Q6. If you could give one cider remark to explain why people must watch the returning "Lee Hoseon's Cider," what would it be?
It is more powerful. Beyond refreshment and exhilaration, with more detailed analysis and bold proposals, it will more clearly present the stance we should take at ambiguous points in life. For the most common situations, it will offer new refreshment with reversal solutions that break existing counseling frameworks. It will provide unpredictable answers to suffocating worries, and the frank and pleasant chemistry with Kim Jimin is also a viewing highlight.
The production team said, "'Lee Hoseon's Cider' returns on March 14 completely revamped. Professor Lee Hoseon will unleash even more realistic and satisfying charged cider solutions, so please look forward to it."
