OWIS throws its hat into the music scene with a debut album that captures five members' five distinct tones.
Virtual girl group OWIS (OWIS, Serin·Haru·Summer·Soi·Yuni) on the 11th released a Highlight medley of their first mini album MUSEUM on their official social media.
The released video contains excerpts of eight tracks, including the title track MUSEUM. Sensuous visual art, matching the mood of each track, blended to express OWIS's mysterious universe. In particular, the vintage visuals using shifting black-and-white and color screens, a miniature music box, and motion graphics caught the eye.
The title track MUSEUM is a medium-tempo song highlighted by a gentle guitar riff. It means "a repository where the fragments of forgotten innocence and passion begin to breathe again," and member Summer participated in the songwriting, adding sincerity.
The other tracks are also composed of diverse genres. They include the pop track airplane:143, which features synth layers and rhythmic flair; the easy-listening song juicy, which features soft guitar loops and a minimal beat; and missing piece, notable for its restrained beat.
They go on to show OWIS's sensibility with lonely lullaby, which moves between the elegance of classic jazz and modern rhythms; ONLY WHEN I SLEEP, a pop song based on afrobeats; forNEVER, which blends hip-hop and R&B sounds; and the English version of the title track, totaling eight tracks.
So far OWIS has drawn attention by sequentially unveiling sensuous content such as a trailer, a webtoon, poster-style tickets, and a leaflet containing the track list. Attention is focusing on the musical spectrum OWIS will present and the music videos through this debut album, which boasts a generous number of songs comparable to a full-length album.
