"You Quiz on the Block" singer Wooz confessed to painful family history and a time of hardship.
On the afternoon of the 11th, the singer Wooz, who created a comeback-hit myth with a song he sang in the military, appeared on tvN's You Quiz on the Block.
Wooz debuted at the young age of 19, but recalled a past when he had no choice but to suspend activities at 21, just two years later. Wooz said, "At the time, I was in a period when I was tormenting myself, thinking, 'How am I supposed to get through this?' " He added, "As I kept tearing myself down, there was nothing left inside, only an empty shell. It was so hard that I even had the extreme thought, 'The world will keep turning even if I disappear.' "
At that time, a devastating piece of news that was hard for Wooz to bear arrived. Wooz said, "My mother called, and I felt something was wrong even before I answered. My mother said, 'Seung-yeon, don't be shocked, listen: your father has passed away,' " and conveyed the sudden news of his father's death.
In particular, Wooz confessed, "In fact, I still don't know the cause of my father's death. My father passed away abroad." Wooz described the harrowing situation in which he had to cremate his father in the Philippines and carry the urn himself back to Korea.
Wooz said, "I carried the urn and toured the places in the Philippines where my father had lived, then brought him back to Korea," and added, "The father who had seemed like the biggest mountain being inside this small box was something I could not believe and could not come to grips with," evoking sympathy.
