SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin I-rang law office' released behind-the-scenes stills of 'the possessed lawyer' Yoo Yeon-seok on set one day before its opening.
The new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin I-rang law office,' which will premiere on Mar. 13 (Fri) (directed by Shin Jung-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young · Kang Cheol-gyu, produced by StudioS · Mongjakso), is a quirky yet warm hanpuri adventure about Shin I-rang, the "possessed lawyer" who satisfyingly resolves the grudges (恨) of the deceased, and Hanna-hyun, the "cold-blooded elite lawyer" who stakes everything on victory. As a novel genre that combines courtroom drama with a fantasy worldview, starting from the premise that "a law office opens where a shaman's house used to be and the lawyer begins to see ghosts," the series will offer comedy, mystery and thrilling courtroom action simultaneously as Shin I-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok) solves cases. In addition, through the "possessed lawyer" who listens to the wronged stories of the deceased and resolves their grudges (恨), it foreshadows the birth of a new unwilling hero on the small screen.
Above all, Yoo Yeon-seok's "possessed" acting spectacle is the biggest point of interest in this work. The sub-character parade caused by the premise of being possessed by the deceased means viewers will see Yoo Yeon-seok portray a variety of characters in one work. Moreover, the fact that this is Yoo Yeon-seok's first full-fledged comic performance also raises expectations. His unique variety talent that even surprises national MC Yu Jae-seok and the acting skills he has built over more than 20 years make one eager to see how they will be blended in this work as soon as possible.
Even in the behind-the-scenes cuts, Yoo Yeon-seok's level of immersion is evident. While waiting to shoot, he carefully checks scenes without letting the script leave his hands, and after filming he rechecks scenes in front of the monitor, revealing his passion to raise the possessed completeness of the character. During the courtroom scene shoots where the lawyer Shin I-rang, who has acquired logical speech and uncanny abilities, spreads his wings, a more concentrated atmosphere is also sensed. In this way, Yoo Yeon-seok is said to have continuously 고민 to avoid missing the character's emotional line and details throughout the shoot and led the mood on set.
The production team said, "Yoo Yeon-seok's meticulous preparation and concentration completed the character three-dimensionally episode by episode. Especially when filming began, his possessed acting unfolded as if he had actually been inhabited by those many characters, and there were more than a few times when the surrounding staff watched in awe," adding, "We are confident that the Shin I-rang Yoo Yeon-seok created will give birth to a distinctive lawyer character never before seen. The story blending comedy, fantasy and thrilling courtroom drama will unfold in a possessed way from the first broadcast, so please look forward to it."
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin I-rang law office' will premiere on Friday, Mar. 13 at 9:50 p.m.<
