Group SHINee member ONEW swept domestic and international charts, taking No. 1 spots upon his comeback.
ONEW released his fifth mini album TOUGH LOVE on the 9th, and the album reached No. 1 on iTunes' Top Albums chart in nine countries and regions worldwide, including Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Indonesia, Japan, Chile, Taipei, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Bolstered by its global chart performance, TOUGH LOVE landed at No. 3 on the worldwide iTunes albums chart, reflecting the intense interest of listeners around the world in ONEW's new album.
The title track, also called TOUGH LOVE, is notably popular. TOUGH LOVE shot to No. 1 on major domestic music site Bugs' top 100 immediately after release, receiving strong responses from listeners.
The fifth mini album TOUGH LOVE breaks away from clichéd love stories and weaves together the "varied facets of love" we encounter in the world like a novel. ONEW participated in writing the lyrics for all the tracks and, for the first time since his debut, is credited as a composer, proving his capabilities not only as an artist but also as a producer.
ONEW is scheduled to appear on cable channel Mnet's M Countdown on the 12th to perform the comeback stage for the title track TOUGH LOVE. Making his first music show appearance in about three years, ONEW is commemorating his comeback with a popup store, collaborating with KakaoT and carrying out comprehensive promotions across online and offline channels, continuing the heated excitement surrounding his return.
