Comprehensive content corporation RBW is launching a full-scale global expansion.
RBW said on the 11th, "Its subsidiary WM Entertainment Co. recently signed a comprehensive business transfer and acquisition agreement with 257 Entertainment and has entered the post-acquisition integration (PMI) process."
Accordingly, WM Entertainment Co. will comprehensively acquire 257 Entertainment's IP asset and all artist exclusive rights, as well as the business overall including its executives and employees.
257 Entertainment representative Park Jae-yong will newly assume the co-representative position at WM Entertainment Co. and will jointly manage the company in a two-person system alongside existing representative Kim Jin-woo. The industry is focusing attention on the combination of creativity and infrastructure.
With this, RBW plans to accelerate its global expansion by embracing XLOV, the most notable "global rookie" in the K-pop scene.
XLOV (Umuti, Rui, Hyun, Haru), who debuted on Jan. 2025, aims to be the first genderless act among K-pop male idols. Having already proven their abilities on large audition programs such as Mnet's "Boys Planet," they are reported to have built a strong global fandom even before debut.
RBW representative Kim Jin-woo said, "We highly value 257 Entertainment's original creative capabilities. I have no doubt this acquisition will create strong synergy by concentrating the business infrastructure and know-how of RBW, DSP Media Co., and WM Entertainment Co.," and added, "We will do our best to expand the XLOV IP in the global market."
257 Entertainment representative Park Jae-yong also expressed his ambitions, saying, "Through this cooperation, we will be able to expand K-pop scene trends to the world more quickly," and added, "We are grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement of XLOV and fandom "EVOL," and we will continue to move forward with perseverance."
Meanwhile, RBW currently has a competitive artist lineup including Mamamoo, Oh My Girl, KARD, and Youngpa C. In addition, a variety of musicians with diverse colors such as Onewe, Ahn Ye-eun, and Gabien J are lined up. With the addition of the XLOV IP, touted as the world's biggest rookie, RBW has further solidified its "multi-label synergy" system encompassing production, planning and global distribution capabilities.<
