MBC weathercaster-turned-broadcaster Park Eun-ji recalled her past work life and left a cryptic message.
On the 11th, Park Eun-ji shared on her social media a post containing remarks by U.S. investor Charlie Munger. The post included the sentence, "The real reason to become rich is so you don't have to work with people you dislike and you don't have to associate with people you don't want to."
In response, Park Eun-ji added, "I was very happy when I was a weathercaster, but after I quit I was happy every day," and wrote, "Because for the above Iyoo that person! I don't have to see them," drawing attention as a remark that seemed to recall the hardships she experienced while working as an MBC weathercaster.
Park Eun-ji joined as an MBC open-recruit weathercaster in 2005 and worked there until she left in 2012, after which she became a freelance broadcaster. Since then she has continued her activities appearing on various television programs.
Earlier, Park Eun-ji also expressed her feelings when the death of former MBC weathercaster Oh Yo-anna became public. She said at the time, "As a former MBC weathercaster, my heart is heavy. I never met her as a junior, but I hope she no longer suffers," mourning the deceased. She added, "You, too, know after enduring the harsh seven years, how terrifying and lonely that pain is. I'm sorry I couldn't be of help," and drew attention by mentioning the culture of workplace harassment.
The late Oh Yo-anna passed away in 2024, and after a will in which she complained of workplace harassment was disclosed, there was a social fallout. After the controversy, MBC abolished the existing freelance weathercaster system and carried out institutional reforms such as creating a regular staff category called "weather and climate expert."
Meanwhile, Park Eun-ji is currently active in broadcasting and communicates with fans by sharing her daily life on her personal social media. <
