"You Quiz on the Block" singer Wooze opened up about the psychological crisis he experienced during his past hiatus from activities and the sudden tragedy of his father's death.
On the afternoon of the 11th, the singer Wooze, who created a reverse-chart success story with a song sung in the military, appeared on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block."
Wooze debuted at 19 but recalled the time around 21 when he had to suspend activities due to unavoidable circumstances. Wooze said, "It was really hard. It felt like a season when I was tormenting myself, thinking, 'How am I going to get through this?'"
He continued, "As I kept tearing myself down, there was no substance left and only a shell remained," and even said, "I even thought, 'Would it be all right if I disappeared? Would the world keep turning?'" suggesting the extreme psychological pain he endured at the time.
At the most precarious time, an even greater tragedy befell Wooze. Wooze recalled the moment he received the news, saying, "My mother called. Strangely, I felt odd even before I answered. When I answered, she said, 'Seung-yeon, don't be shocked, listen. Something has gone wrong.' It was the news that my father had passed away."
In particular, Wooze revealed, "In fact, even now I do not know the cause of my father's death. My father died abroad," shocking viewers. Wooze explained the sorrowful journey, saying, "To bring my father's remains home, we cremated him locally in the Philippines, and after carrying the urn and visiting the places in the Philippines where I had been with my father, we finally brought him to Korea."
