Broadcaster MC Ddingdong was sued by the female BJ who was assaulted during an online broadcast amid controversy. MC Ddingdong said after the controversy that he will take legal action against the spread of false information.
On the 11th, MC Ddingdong posted on his personal social media, "I do not take the weight of this matter lightly either, and I will take responsibility to the end for the necessary parts," he said.
He added, "However, I will no longer tolerate a situation in which even content that differs from the facts is spreading as if it were established fact. The exact details will be made clear through legal procedures and investigation," he emphasized. MC Ddingdong bowed his head and said, "I am sorry for causing concern."
Earlier, on the 7th MC Ddingdong appeared on an online broadcast in the form of an "Excel broadcast" with various BJs. An Excel broadcast is a type of online broadcast that organizes出演 BJs' sponsorship rankings like an Excel sheet to induce sponsorship competition among viewers. At that time, Mr. A, following viewers' sponsorship instructions, was doing a profanity rap directed at MC Ddingdong and mentioned MC Ddingdong's past controversy by saying "the b*** who had an incident 2 years ago, that b***."
In response, MC Ddingdong suddenly turned serious, grabbed Mr. A's hair and shook it, and one BJ urgently instructed, "Take the camera away." The camera soon showed another area, and in the meantime MC Ddingdong loudly threw the microphone and left the studio, after which the BJs handled the situation and continued the broadcast.
After returning to the set, MC Ddingdong said through tears, "I can tolerate other insults, but as soon as I heard about the incident from two years ago I had trauma and thought of my children, so I snapped. For a year and a half I had no work, and now I'm finally trying to live diligently, and then suddenly that kind of talk. I will never drink and drive again. I am sorry once more."
However, amid pouring criticism Mr. A expressed a painful state of mind, and on the 9th said, "The lawsuit (against MC Ddingdong) has been filed and will continue to proceed, and there will be as little settlement as possible. Thinking of my mother I cannot do otherwise, and I am also a precious daughter," announcing a firm stance on strong counteraction.
Also, on the 10th Mr. A posted an official notice on an online community explaining the situation in detail. He said, "We were receiving donations and the three of us were swearing, and that part was something the MC approved. Also, he often used the incident from two years ago as comedy material."
He went on to say about being assaulted, "I was the one he looked down on the most, and he said my voice was easily heard in his ear. He said my hair was a poop haircut so it was good to grab, which I think contributed," and he explained that the cracking sound that occurred right after MC Ddingdong grabbed Mr. A's hair while the camera was turned away was "not the sound of hitting me but the sound of throwing the microphone and breaking office items."
Mr. A said, "Honestly I was so angry I lost my composure after the broadcast and made a fuss about filing a lawsuit. Still, viewers comforted me a lot, and because I cherished the channel, if there had been a sincere apology I would not have thought to file a lawsuit. But when I saw the phrase 'you were reckless but I was reckless too' I decided to file the suit."
Mr. A said, "The agency is doing its best for me and the situation is gradually being resolved. I am currently receiving psychiatric counseling for PTSD and panic disorder, and the medical certificate for injury showed a two-week recovery. The current situation is that I hired a lawyer the day before yesterday (the 8th) and the complaint was filed yesterday (the 9th). (MC Ddingdong's side) demanded a settlement of 10 million won, which is large for a simple assault, but I refused," informing that the complaint procedure against MC Ddingdong has already been completed.
He said, "From the lawyer's perspective they recommend settlement for simple assault, but I am currently refusing. Viewers also think settlement is advantageous and the agency seems to want that, so I am considering it. MC keeps sending apology texts, but I have told him to contact me through my lawyer," adding, "The lawsuit has already been filed and I will decide whether to settle depending on the verdict."
Finally, Mr. A said, "It was my first time on an Excel broadcast so I admit I said a lot of thoughtless things. I'm sorry. It wasn't something I should have done like a personal broadcast, and I apologize for that."
