Singer Yena revealed anecdotes about working with Jeong Hyung Don.
Yena held a press conference to celebrate the release of her fifth mini-album 'LOVE CATCHER (Love Catcher)' at CGV Apgujeong in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 11th and talked about the new album.
Yena's new album has attracted attention for its dazzling featuring lineup. "All-round entertainer" DinDin and Jeong Hyung Don, indie scene standout Yoon Machi (MRCH), and "emotion craftsman" Paul Kim participated not only in singing but also in songwriting to raise the album's completeness, and the track "April's cat" had lyrics contributed by singer-songwriter HANRORO, who is drawing attention as a "Gen Z rock star."
The track "Because it's spring (Feat. DinDin, Jeong Hyung Don)" is a song that cheerfully unravels the confused feeling of "is it exciting because it's spring, or is it exciting because of you." DinDin and Jeong Hyung Don add witty advice from their respective perspectives, increasing the listening pleasure.
Yena said of working with DinDin and Jeong Hyung Don, "They brought out the flavor so well that I think the song came out even more successful. Uncle Jeong Hyung Don was a fellow cast member on the first variety show I appeared on after my debut. We've kept in touch occasionally. Mr. DinDin was actually someone I had never met before. But I thought he would fit the song so well that I asked through an acquaintance."
She continued, "Uncle Jeong Hyung Don came to the recording studio in person to work on it. He brought the lyrics and wrote them that very day. But the lyrics came out so cool. I thought, so this is why senior G-Dragon liked it. It was so cool that I could only marvel while watching. In the album before last, Uncle Park Myung Soo appeared in the music video, so I wonder if I am one of the successful kids from Infinite Challenge Kids." she expressed her gratitude.
Meanwhile, Yena's fifth mini-album 'LOVE CATCHER' will be released through various music sites at 6 p.m. that day.
