Comedian MC Dingdong said he will "pursue legal procedures" regarding the controversy over him assaulting a female BJ during an internet live broadcast.
On the afternoon of the 11th, MC Dingdong mentioned the incident on his social media and personally said, "I do not take the weight of this matter lightly, and I will fulfill my responsibilities to the end where necessary."
He added, "However, regarding the situation in which content that differs from the facts is spreading as if it were established fact, I will no longer tolerate it. The exact details will be clearly revealed through legal procedures and investigations," announcing his intention to respond legally.
Finally, he apologized, saying, "I am sorry for causing concern."
According to online communities and the broadcasting industry that day, MC Dingdong conducted an internet broadcast in an "Excel broadcast" format on the 7th with A and other BJs. Excel broadcasts organize BJs' sponsorship rankings like an Excel sheet to induce sponsorship competition.
That day A rapped, and under viewers' sponsorship prompts mentioned MC Dingdong's past drunk driving and hit-and-run incident. Enraged, MC Dingdong rushed at A, grabbed her by the hair and shook her, and A was seen collapsing to the floor.
Previously, in 2022 MC Dingdong was arrested on charges of driving a vehicle in a highly intoxicated state near Hawolgok-dong, Seongbuk District, Seoul, refusing a police breathalyzer test and fleeing. At the time he even rammed a police car, and he was brought to trial on charges including violation of the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and injury to a public official during the performance of official duties, receiving a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison with a suspended sentence of 2 years. He suspended his broadcasting and activities amid the controversy.
After the controversy, on the 9th A said, "I have filed a complaint (against MC Dingdong) and will continue to pursue it, and there will be as little settlement as possible. I can't do it thinking about my mother, and I am also a precious daughter," outlining her response plan.
