Actor Yang Hye-ji added a deep aftertaste to Honor: Their court.
With only one episode left until the finale of ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama Honor: Their court, Yang Hye-ji, who plays the college-aged Yoon Ra-young (Lee Na-young), once again left a strong impression.
In the 11th episode of Honor: Their court, which aired on the 9th, a perilous moment from Yoon Ra-young's (Lee Na-young) past was depicted through Kang Shin-jae's (Jung Eun-Chae) recollection. Yoon Ra-young, standing precariously on the railing, had wounds on her face, and her eyes mixed anxiety and confusion. The scene in which Kang Shin-jae and Hwang Hyun-jin (Lee Chung-ah), who discovered her, rushed to Yoon Ra-young evoked pity.
Yang Hye-ji delicately expressed Yoon Ra-young's emotional line and took a strong hold of viewers' hearts. She captured the psychology of Yoon Ra-young, who even contemplated an extreme choice, with hollow eyes and expressions, increasing the scene's immersion. By completing the character standing at the edge of precarious emotion with a more condensed emotional performance, she solidified the past narrative.
Earlier, when she first appeared in episode 4 of Honor: Their court, Yang Hye-ji dominated the screen by powerfully showing Yoon Ra-young's past even in a short moment. Whenever she appeared in later recollection scenes, she lent credibility to the relationships among Yoon Ra-young, Kang Shin-jae and Hwang Hyun-jin, as well as to the narrative of the character Yoon Ra-young. Because Yang Hye-ji vividly realized college student Yoon Ra-young, portraying the character's wounds and hidden truths three-dimensionally, the aftertaste of Honor: Their court deepened further.
So far, Yang Hye-ji's activities, who has steadily built her presence through various works including the drama I Know But, Revenant, the Netflix series Sweet Home seasons 2 and 3, and Iron Family, shone this time as well. As she has shown an acting spectrum that crosses genres each time, attention is focused on the new looks Yang Hye-ji will show in the future.
