SM Entertainment (hereafter SM) co-CEOs Jang Cheol-hyeok and Tak Young-jun and Chief Global Officer Choi Jeong-min were selected for Billboard's "Global Power Players."
Billboard on the 9th (local time) announced on its official website the "Billboard's 2026 Global Power Players," and the names of Jang Cheol-hyeok, Tak Young-jun, SM co-CEOs and Choi Jeong-min, CGO (Chief Global Officer), were listed, drawing attention.
In particular, Tak Young-jun has achieved the feat of being selected for five consecutive years since 2022, and Jang Cheol-hyeok has been selected for three consecutive years since 2024, solidifying their status as leaders guiding the global music industry, and Choi Jeong-min, CGO, who is in charge of artists' and corporations' branding and business in overseas markets, was listed for the first time this time, once again proving SM's global influence.
SM marked its 30th anniversary in 2025 and had a meaningful year showcasing various projects around the world, including performances, albums, orchestra live shows and pop-up stores in Asia as well as the Americas and Europe, and in January this year announced the "SM NEXT 3.0" strategy focused on a sustainable growth structure and plans to further strengthen competitiveness by balancing the nurturing of new IP and global expansion strategies.
Meanwhile, "Global Power Players" is a list Billboard publishes each year selecting leaders who have led music markets outside the United States and achieved outstanding results, saying, "In an era when artists and music cross borders more actively than ever, Billboard selects and spotlights the top executives driving success in the global music industry as the '2026 Global Power Players.'"
