SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Shinirang Law Office' sees Yoo Yeon-seok's opening three days away, and an unusual first case has been previewed. From his first day at work, the 'ghost client' Heo Sung-tae appears, and his daily life is completely overturned.
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Shinirang Law Office' (directed by Shin Jung-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Cheol-gyu, produced by Studio S and Mongjakso) is a strange yet warm revenge adventure about Shinirang, the 'possessed lawyer' who spectacularly resolves the resentment (han) of the deceased, and Han Na-hyun, the 'cold-blooded elite lawyer' who stakes everything on winning. It is a distinct genre that combines the thrill of courtroom drama with a fantasy worldview, and it is expected to follow in the lineage of SBS's refreshing courtroom dramas.
The first broadcast on Friday the 13th begins with Shinirang (Yoo Yeon-seok) opening a law office in Room 501 of Okcheon Building after failing to join a major law firm. The problem is that this choice opens an unexpected door to another world. After starting his career as a lawyer in a place that used to be a shaman's house, the deceased begin to appear to him, and eventually his first ghost client appears.
The protagonist is Lee Kang-pung (Heo Sung-tae). It has not yet been revealed what request he makes to Shinirang, but it is clear he is not an ordinary persistent presence. When they first meet at the office, he even goes to the butcher restaurant run by Shinirang's mother Park Kyung-hwa (Kim Mi-kyung) to speak to him, and he even follows him to a church where he went to pray to escape the situation. Faced with the 'ghost client's' relentlessness that follows him everywhere, Shinirang is expected to ultimately accept the case.
Released stills capture Shinirang preparing a full-fledged defense to uncover the truth of the case. He even conducts undercover investigations to track the incident, marking the start of the first 'han-resolution lawsuit.' But Lee Kang-pung appears at the moment the trial begins, likely creating unpredictable circumstances. Lee Kang-pung could even possess Shinirang. While anticipation rises over what possessed fun and satisfying revenge Shinirang's strange first case will deliver, curiosity is also piqued about what truth may be hidden here.
The production team said, "The Lee Kang-pung case is the first story that opens the 'Shinirang Law Office' universe. It will be the starting point showing why Shinirang takes on the deceased's cases and how those cases are resolved." They added, "The unpredictable chemistry and pleasant case developments that Yoo Yeon-seok and Heo Sung-tae will create will unfold at a possessed pace from the first episode, guaranteeing clear enjoyment for viewers. Please show much interest and anticipation until the first broadcast in three days."
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Shinirang Law Office' will premiere on Friday, March 13, at 9:50 p.m.
