Actor Ha Jiwon expressed her thoughts on playing an actress character in Climax.
On the 10th afternoon at The Saint in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, an ENA new Monday-Tuesday drama Climax production presentation was held. Director Lee Ji-won attended the production presentation along with actors Ju Jihoon, Ha Jiwon, Nana and Oh Jung-se to talk.
Climax is a work that depicts prosecutor Bang Tae-seop, who jumped into a cartel of power to stand at the top position in Korea, and the fierce survival drama of those around him, with director Lee Ji-won, who has been noted for delicate yet intense direction, taking the helm.
Joining trusted actors such as Ju Jihoon, Ha Jiwon, Nana, Oh Jung-se and Cha Joo-young, it is expected to densely portray the fatal relationships of characters with different desires and beliefs in the face of power and love.
On the day, Ha Jiwon explained, "The character Choo Sang-ah that I played is an emotional state in which a glamorous past and a very anxious, unstable present coexist. I played actress Choo Sang-ah, who is acting the desire and coldness to go back to the top and the human interior that trembles within that."
Ha Jiwon confessed, "Before answering this, rather it seemed harder to act as an actress character as an actress. And because I erased the actor Ha Jiwon and played Choo Sang-ah, every moment was difficult, and I monitored more carefully with the director."
She continued, "While playing Choo Sang-ah, I think I rather felt emotions as an actor when looking at the character Sang-ah, and if I were to say a similar point of sympathy, I have also been thinking about 'who am I' as an actor and as a person and why I am acting since about seven to eight years ago, and I am in the process of riding a roller coaster."
Ha Jiwon said, "I think I performed in Climax with a mindset more like a rookie. Emotions were difficult, but going to the set as an actor was also fun. I think that going forward, Climax will be a work that brings more to me as I continue acting."
Meanwhile, the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama Climax will first air at 10 p.m. on Monday the 16th on ENA, and will also be available on KT Genie TV and Disney+.
