Cable channel Mnet alumnus Choi Rip-woo and Kang Woo-jin from "Boys 2 Planet" have confirmed they will debut as a team.
FNC Entertainment Co. said, "After sufficient discussion, we have confirmed that Choi Rip-woo and Kang Woo-jin will debut as a two-member duo," and added, "We plan to return with high-quality music and performances to meet the expectations of fans who have supported them unwaveringly."
Choi Rip-woo and Kang Woo-jin appeared on "Boys 2 Planet," which ended in September last year, and drew attention for their distinct charms, warm visuals, and solid skills. As the program progressed, they showed more growth, demonstrating not only stable stage performance but also exceptional teamwork and synergy that won them many fans.
The two members continued their connection after the show ended by filming content together and appearing together on radio, and gained attention for their close friendship when they were seen attending each other's fan meetings in person. Recently, they were both selected as this month's DJs for MBC Radio FM4U's "Close Friend Broadcasting Club" and are communicating with listeners throughout March.
The group that includes Choi Rip-woo and Kang Woo-jin is stepping up preparations with a goal to debut in May, and the team name and specific activity plans will be disclosed sequentially later.
