YouTuber Haechu announced she is pregnant with her second child.
On the 9th, a video titled "I can't hide it anymore... pregnant with my second (+ telling mom and dad first)" was uploaded to Haechu's YouTube channel.
In the video, Haechu felt something was off when her daughter Juha suddenly started playing frequently with baby dolls and became very clingy to her mother, so she used a pregnancy test and confirmed faint two lines. The next day, after testing again, Haechu said, "It's still a bit faint two lines. Faint means it's the very early stage of pregnancy," confirming she was indeed pregnant with her second child.
She said, "Ppekyu-boy kept acting like he knew; he kept saying 'congrats on the pregnancy,' 'you're pregnant, right?' even though I never said anything. Even though it's very early, I'll just tell Ppekyu-boy," and told her husband about the pregnancy right away. After checking with an ultrasound, Haechu said, "I went for an ultrasound yesterday and it was 6 weeks and 5 days. But I have no morning sickness. Since becoming pregnant, Gosaesam has become clingy. She doesn't usually do this at meals, but lately she has. It's amazing. I feel like she's become much more affectionate," revealing that even her pet cat had become unusually clingy after their daughter.
Turning the camera back on at 8 weeks pregnant, Haechu said, "The lunch I eat when I come down from work is egg in hell. This time the morning sickness isn't that bad, so as long as I don't overeat it's manageable. I haven't told any family yet. It's completely secret. But it's so strange that I found out I was pregnant around 4 or 5 weeks. At that time, Haeun suddenly asked me, 'Sister, did you maybe get pregnant again?' and my friend Jiye contacted me, 'You didn't possibly get pregnant again, did you?' Not long after I knew I was pregnant, Helen's mother contacted me and asked, 'Didn't Juha get a sibling?' because Juha was unusually clingy that day — whining, clinging, asking to be held. I hemmed and hawed, saying 'no,' but as soon as I became pregnant, about five people asked, 'Did you get pregnant?'" conveying surprise at others' uncanny intuition.
She continued, "The stranger thing was when I took the pregnancy test and saw two lines, a comment popped up on my YouTube, 'Haechu, I think you're pregnant with your second.' It's so strange. Maybe there's really something to it," and said, "During my last pregnancy I couldn't eat ramen because of morning sickness. But this time everything tastes good. Last time I was like, 'Wow, I'm really pregnant now,' but this time it's like, 'Is there really a baby in my belly?' But that feeling is definitely there. I have a desire to eat quality food. Rather than instant food, rather than fried or flour-based foods, I want fresh food. So instead of boiling ramen as usual, I made this to eat," describing changes after becoming pregnant.
But shortly after, Haechu complained of morning sickness. She said, "I thought I wouldn't have morning sickness this time. During Juha's pregnancy I had morning sickness starting at 5 weeks and it was very severe. But this time there were no symptoms at 5 weeks. I was happy thinking there would be no morning sickness, but from 8 weeks suddenly after dinner at 3 a.m. I felt like I was going to vomit. I feel particularly queasy on an empty stomach," and the next day she tearfully said, "I feel nauseous. While working I couldn't stand it and I think I need to lie down for a bit."
As time passed, Haechu visited her parents' home with her family. She said, "My mother made too much dinner and told us to come eat, so after Juha got off from school we all washed up and were on our way. But I think I should tell my mother the pregnancy news first today. A few days ago while we were washing together my mother looked at my belly and kept asking, 'Are you really pregnant with your second?' I can't hide it anymore. Second pregnancies show sooner. When I was pregnant with Juha my belly started to show a bit from 16 weeks, but now it's only 11 weeks and my belly is already quite protruding. I can't hide it any longer. I'm going to tell my mom and dad early today," she said.
After finishing the meal at her parents' home, Haechu revealed a noticeably protruding D-line. She loudly said, "My belly has come out so much lately," and her mother asked, "Are you really pregnant?" Haechu immediately answered, "Yes! I'm pregnant with my second now," and her mother showed doubt, asking, "You're kidding, right?" When her husband Ppekyu-boy said, "It's 11 weeks," Haechu's mother brightly rejoiced, saying, "No wonder your belly was so big."
Her father recalled the family recently eating oysters and worried, "What if you catch norovirus?" He told Haechu, who said, "I didn't eat (secretly)," "congratulations." Her mother, pleased, said, "What a thing. I thought, seeing the belly, 'what should we do about our Haechu,' it was so serious. I didn't say anything out loud but I thought, 'Why is it so big?'"
When Haechu asked, "When is the due date?" they answered, "September." Her mother, showing great joy but also scolding, said, "You should have told us. Then we'd be more careful. About bumping into things and stuff," drawing laughter.
