TV CHOSUN new weekend miniseries 'Doctor Shin' teases the birth of a Phoebe (Phoebe) signature scene as Jeong Yi-chan and Song Ji In have an 'impulsive pool encounter.'
Scheduled to premiere on the 14th (Sat) at 10:30 p.m., TV CHOSUN's new weekend miniseries 'Doctor Shin' (writer Phoebe (Phoebe, Im Seong-han)/director Lee Seung-hoon/produced by Scene & Studio, TM Group) is a medical thriller about a genius surgeon who challenges the realm of God and a woman whose brain is damaged overnight and whose soul fades away. 'Doctor Shin' is a medical thriller written for the first time by writer Phoebe, known as the 'alchemist of boldness,' who completely overturns the grammar of conventional dramas. Director Lee Seung-hoon, who directed Love (ft. Marriage & Divorce), directs, promising destructive catharsis.
Jeong Yi-chan plays Shin Ju-shin, a genius surgeon with near-miraculous brain surgery skills, in 'Doctor Shin,' delivering a weighty presence in his first leading role since his debut. Song Ji In transforms shockingly from head to toe as Hyun Ran-hee, the mother of Momo (played by Baek Seora) and a gallery director. Expectations are rising for the two actors' performances, which will play key roles in Phoebe's first medical thriller drama.
Jeong Yi-chan and Song Ji In draw attention with an 'impulsive pool encounter' in which Shin Ju-shin (played by Jeong Yi-chan) talks with Hyun Ran-hee (played by Song Ji In), the mother of the lover Shin Ju-shin cares for, at a swimming pool. While Shin Ju-shin speaks in his characteristic expressionless manner, Hyun Ran-hee continues the conversation with a bright smile. At one point, Hyun Ran-hee is startled by a line Shin Ju-shin utters, raising the tension. In particular, the fact that the two, bound by the relationships of the daughter's prospective boyfriend and the mother of the woman he loves, have a serious private conversation wearing a robe or a swimsuit creates an intriguing atmosphere and arouses curiosity.
Meanwhile, Jeong Yi-chan and Song Ji In delivered deeply immersive performances for the 'sudden pool encounter' scene, which appears as a 'signature' in every work by writer Phoebe. To maximize the strange atmosphere of meeting in the open space of a pool, the two repeatedly rehearsed lines before filming. Jeong Yi-chan and Song Ji In heightened the work's completeness by delicately portraying high-level psychological battles and emotional shifts as they explored each other's intentions and inner thoughts.
