The group ENHYPEN has reached the biggest turning point since their debut six years ago. ENHYPEN and Heeseung have chosen independence to support each other's growth, and they plan to pursue different futures as a group and as solo artists.
Belift Lab Inc. announced in an official statement on the 10th that ENHYPEN will reorganize into a six-member team of Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Niki, and member Heeseung will become independent as a solo artist.
The agency said, "ENHYPEN has been considering and discussing the direction and next goals it should pursue," and explained, "Each member had in-depth conversations about the future they envision and the team's direction, and in that process we confirmed that Heeseung's musical orientation is clear, so we decided to respect that."
They added, "Heeseung did not want to prioritize only his own ambitions within the team, and the other members were very considerate of him," and said, "This company decision, taken with those considerations, will be a new leap forward for both ENHYPEN and solo artist Heeseung."
Heeseung also left a sincere message directly to fans in a handwritten letter. He recalled the past six years as "an overwhelming and precious time I cannot fully express in words," revealing his deep affection for the fans.
He explained the reason he decided to become independent: "I shared the results of the work I have done so far with the company and discussed for a long time with many people how it would be best to present this, and after long consideration I made the big decision to follow the direction the company suggested in order to approach ENGENEs in a better way."
He continued, "As ENGENEs know, I have continued personal work and have spent a lot of time hoping to show it to you. There were many things I wanted to show, but I also did not want to put my own ambitions ahead within the team," and added, "I know about your concerns and many of the conversations. I will work hard to prepare to meet you again as soon as possible."
Based on the material Heeseung has worked on over time, he will release a solo album. Reorganized as a six-member team, ENHYPEN will continue to charge forward with Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Niki at the forefront. They plan to showcase even more solidified performance and energy based on the solid skills they have built up.
Since their debut in Nov. 2020, ENHYPEN and Heeseung, who have run breathlessly, now stand at new starting lines. Although their positions are different, anticipation is growing for the new narrative the six-member ENHYPEN will present and the musical world Heeseung will unfold as a solo artist.<
