Veteran actor Choi Bul-am is filming a documentary despite rumors about his health.
On the 10th, a Korea Broadcasting System (MBC) official told OSEN, "Our company is producing a documentary about Choi Bul-am. It is currently in the filming stage, and the specific scheduling is still undecided," the official said.
Born in 1940, Choi Bul-am is one of the representative veteran actors who remains active at the advanced age of 87 (international age 85) this year. Since debuting in 1967 with the KBS drama "Suyangdaegun," he appeared in numerous popular dramas such as MBC's "Chief Inspector" and "Jeonwon Ilgi," earning the reputation of a "national actor."
However, recently unfounded rumors about Choi Bul-am's health were raised. The aftermath came after other veteran actors such as Baek Il-seop and Park Eun-soo each appeared on broadcasts and said, "We cannot reach Choi Bul-am," and "His health is not good."
Coincidentally, Choi Bul-am had stepped down last year from the long-running KBS 1TV program "Korean Table". At the time, only that Choi Bul-am's will was strong was reported as the reason for his departure. Amid this, it was reported that Choi Bul-am underwent back disc surgery last year, which drew sympathy.
However, according to broadcasting officials, fortunately there is currently no particular abnormality in Choi Bul-am's health. Given his advanced age, he has been steadily working on rehabilitation since last year's back disc surgery. They said the documentary filming is also progressing without strain. <
