The biggest figures from Netflix's Culinary Class Wars will all gather on MBC's Son Seok-hee's Questions. The winner Choi Kang-rok, Hou Deok-juk, the pinnacle of Chinese cuisine with 58 years of experience, and Monk Seonjae, master of temple cuisine No. 1, will be there. Host Son Seok-hee also said, "Having the three of them together makes my chest swell with grandeur."
During a recent recording, the three candidly shared their individual food philosophies and behind-the-scenes stories from the Culinary Class Wars shoot. Chef Hou Deok-juk answered Son Seok-hee's question "It took quite some time from finishing the shoot to the broadcast; how did you keep the competition results secret?" by saying, "I didn't tell my family at all," and the winner Chef Choi Kang-rok said, "If the secret leaks the fines are so steep...," prompting laughter from the audience.
Chef Choi Kang-rok consistently revealed his distinctive character in his responses, prompting audience reactions such as "As expected of the nickname 'character Choi Kang-rok.'" When asked, "Do you plan to participate in another cooking competition?" he hesitated briefly and then said, "I think I could go out again," adding, "I seem to be addicted to the tension that competitions give," which sparked interest in whether he will actually participate again.
For their final dishes as chefs, Chef Hou Deok-juk chose the "buldojang," which he first introduced in Korea; Chef Choi Kang-rok said he would make noodles while looking at his reflection in a mirror; and Monk Seonjae said he would recreate the doenjang stew his mother made when he visited home after becoming a monk but turned back because of his father's dissuasion, moving the audience to solemnity.
Meanwhile, next week's guests on Son Seok-hee's Questions have been set as director Jang Hang-jun and actor Yoo Hai Jin of the film The King's Warden, which surpassed 10 million viewers. This is the first time the two will appear together in a broadcast interview since reaching 10 million viewers. Questions previously featured director Ryu Seung-wan and actor Zo In-sung of Humint, who also appeared to congratulate The King's Warden on its achievement.
