Hong Joo-eun, who is Hong Seok-cheon's niece and adopted daughter, introduced herself as "my uncle's daughter" and shared that she is preparing for marriage. Hong Joo-eun said, "I am preparing to marry a boyfriend I've been seeing for about two years." When asked, "When my uncle adopted me, did you think you would get married around age 30?" Hong Seok-cheon responded with surprise, "I didn't think it would happen this soon."
When Hong Joo-eun asked, "Was the first talk about adoption brought up by my uncle?" Hong Seok-cheon recalled the situation at the time. He said, "My older sister and I talked about adoption while worrying about how to explain it to the children," and, "After the two of us consulted, we brought up the topic."
Hong Seok-cheon went on to reveal the difficult situation that befell the family. He said, "My younger sister was raising two children alone after her divorce and met a new love," and added, "But from my perspective, that was someone she should never meet." He continued, "The situation got worse and in the end my sister had to leave the house as if running away," recalling, "As soon as I called I told her, 'Take the children and come out,' and my sister came to us as if seeking refuge."
Hong Seok-cheon said that at the time the family had been hiding the situation because they were worried he would be concerned. He said, "I happened to find out about that, and I can't just ignore such a situation," and, "So I put everything aside and told my sister, 'I'll take full responsibility, so come up.'" In the end, the sister took the children and came to Seoul in the middle of the night, and in that process Hong Seok-cheon decided to adopt his nieces and nephews.
Hearing the story, Hong Joo-eun also recalled the time. She said, "My life completely changed after being adopted by my uncle," and added, "Since that day I've felt psychological stability." She also confessed, "There is a sense of relief that if I suddenly need help and ask, he would help at any time," and, "I have never once regretted becoming Hong Seok-cheon's daughter," which moved listeners.
