In that episode, the couple known as a representative loving couple in the entertainment world, Lee Hyori·Lee Sang Soon, appeared as the directors of the "Monggeul counseling center," which helps young people with developmental disabilities with dating. "Monggeul counseling center," which opened in winter 2025, gathered young people with developmental disabilities who dream of love, the so-called "Monggeulssi." The two accompanied them as they 고민ed over their dating and daily lives and prepared for their first blind dates.
First, one Monggeul client with an intellectual disability attempted to practice taking the subway to go to the blind date location alone. He said, "As numbers get bigger, calculations become difficult, so time is very inconvenient," and "I sometimes wander around the same place because I can't find new routes well." Nevertheless, he continued practice moving on his own to go to the blind date and showed courage.
Another Monggeul client said about his work, "There is meaning in living life," and "If I work hard all day and listen to music, my fatigue disappears. Music feels like a fatigue recovery agent for everyday life."
But wounds in his heart were also revealed. He confessed, "I have no friends. I was afraid they would dislike me because I'm disabled, so I couldn't even ask for phone numbers," and "It was very hard at school. I was told not to play together because intellectual disability could be transmitted." He added, "I was so distressed that I once went up to the rooftop to jump," and said with tears in his eyes, "A male teacher grabbed me and said, 'I know it's hard. But going to the rooftop is not the way. I'll help you.' That one sentence is what I remember." He also opened up, "I don't know why I have an intellectual disability."
Hearing this, Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon deeply empathized and offered warm comfort. The two said, "You must have had a really hard time," and "I love your bright appearance now. Now you can be friends with us. We will be your relatives on the father's side." They added, "You will soon meet a girlfriend you will love," and encouraged, "We sincerely support your first blind date." The Monggeul client also expressed determination for the new challenge, saying, "It's my first time so I'm clumsy, but I'll do well. I'll try hard. Fighting."
Meanwhile, "Monggeul counseling center" is Korea's first dating reality program that helps young people with developmental disabilities experience their first romances. It warmly captured the love and growth of young people with developmental disabilities.
