Actor KIM MIN joined the ranks of 10-million-ticket actors through the film The King's Warden.
The film The King's Warden, in which Kim Min appears (director Jang Hang-jun), surpassed 10 million moviegoers on the 6th, continuing its box office phenomenon. Kim Min also left a strong impression on audiences by heightening the film's immersion as Um Tae-san, the son of Gwangcheongol village chief Um Heung-do (played by Yoo Hai Jin).
The King's Warden is a work set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo that tells the story of a village head who volunteered for exile to revive the village and a young former king who was exiled after being driven from the throne.
In the film, Um Tae-san, played by Kim Min, is so bright that he learned the Thousand Character Classic and the Elementary Learning when he was young. Because of poverty, he gave up taking the state examination early and devoted himself to archery, showing a composure beyond his years, and he revealed the character's presence with a bold side that confronts Crown Prince Yi Hong-wi (played by Park Jihoon) without hesitation when the prince neglects the villagers' devotion.
In particular, Kim Min, who challenged a historical drama for the first time through The King's Warden, repeatedly read the script before filming to find a line tone suitable for the character to raise her immersion. She is also known to have paid great attention to visual details to realize the people of that era, such as lowering her usual fair skin tone and adding scar makeup.
The King's Warden is also significant because it is the third project in which Kim Min worked with director Jang Hang-jun, following Rebound and The Killers. Based on the trust built through previous work, Kim Min showcased deeper acting and stable character execution, firmly imprinting her presence on screen.
Through her agency, Kim Min offered a heartfelt comment: "I sincerely thank everyone who has sent The King's Warden love as big as a mountain. Meanwhile, buoyed by the momentum of surpassing 10 million viewers, Kim Min will meet viewers as the youngest team member Choi Han-gyeol, who is responsible for the atmosphere of the robotics lab, in ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama Love Doctor scheduled to air this year.<
