Blackpink added a new record on the U.S. Billboard charts with mini 3 [DEADLINE].
On the 8th (local time), according to a preview article of the U.S. Billboard charts, Blackpink's mini 3 [DEADLINE] entered the Billboard 200 at No. 8. This is the group's fifth charting following mini 1 'SQUARE UP', mini 2 'Kill This Love', full-length 1 'THE ALBUM', and full-length 2 [BORN PINK].
With this, Blackpink once again proved its powerful global influence by placing in the chart's top 10 three consecutive times. Earlier, Blackpink set the then highest K-pop girl group record (No. 2) with 'THE ALBUM', and made new history by becoming the first K-pop female artist to reach No. 1 with [BORN PINK].
There was also a big response on the Official Charts, considered one of the world's two major charts along with the U.S. Billboard. [DEADLINE] ranked No. 11 on the album top 100, and the title track 'GO' recorded No. 44 on the singles top 100 chart. These are, respectively, the fourth and twelfth chart entries for the team's releases. With this, Blackpink set a new record for the most chart entries by a K-pop female artist in both the Official Albums and singles institutional sector.
This global popularity was predicted early on. Blackpink's mini 3 [DEADLINE] topped the Hanteo weekly and monthly charts with only two and a half days of tracking, went on to win three crowns on the Circle Chart, and a week after release sold 1,774,577 copies, breaking the first-week sales record for a K-pop girl group.
Meanwhile, Blackpink's mini 3 [DEADLINE], released on the 27th of last month, has received praise from major foreign media for its high musical completeness. Rolling Stone described it as "Blackpink has returned to its prime," and Billboard highly praised the title track 'GO' as "the album's best song and a track that truly represents Blackpink."
