"Sikgaek Heo Yeongman's Baekban Journey" Fifty Fifty member Moon Chanel revealed why she came to Korea.
On the 8th, TV CHOSUN's "Sikgaek Heo Yeongman's Baekban Journey" featured Moon Chanel and Yewon of Fifty Fifty (FIFTY FIFTY) visiting Yanggu County in Gangwon Province, a DMZ area steeped in pristine nature.
That day Heo Yeong asked Moon Chanel, "You came from the United States?" Moon Chanel replied, "Yes. I'm mixed race," saying she has a Korean mother and an American father.
When asked how she learned Korean, Moon Chanel answered, "I like talking often." When Heo Yeong asked, "Maybe nightclubs or something?" Moon Chanel, surprised, joked, "I think it's good. They're noisy."
Then Heo Yeong asked, "If you came from the U.S. five years ago, did you come then to become a singer?" Moon Chanel said she came to Korea at 19 and said, "I've always liked music. To be honest, I liked K-pop since I was about 4 years old."
Yewon also said, "I actually had a dream of being an idol like my sister," and revealed she worked hard as class president and school president during her school days. She added, "I was also student body president many times and worked hard at school life. I kept it in my heart like my sister, then went on a survival program, had a good experience there, joined this company and debuted together," which surprised viewers.
Heo Yeong said with an uncle's smile, "Just having the two people sitting in front of me is already mesmerizing, so I don't know whether I should eat or not."
Heo Yeong also asked, "Does Fifty Fifty have 50 members?" Moon Chanel and Yewon replied, "We are five. Each of us doesn't have a specific position."
When asked why, Moon Chanel said, "The CEO said it would be good if the members could all do everything well. Our songs pursue easy listening, so we have them ourselves," showing pride.
Yewon spoke about member Kina, saying, "We don't have a leader, but because she's like an older sister, many members say she feels like a mother." Regarding Hana, Moon Chanel introduced, "Hana has a pretty, clear voice, so she helps us a lot musically."
Finally, about the youngest, Athena, she added, "The youngest is still like a baby and that kind of thing seems to melt the team's atmosphere. She's the youngest who bounces around and makes you want to boast about her without it feeling heavy."
