My Little Old Boy actor Yoo Yeon-seok mentioned the stark difference in variety show styles between Korea's two national MCs, Yu Jae-seok and Shin Dong-yeob.
On the 8th broadcast, SBS' My Little Old Boy featured romance icon actor Yoo Yeon-seok as a special MC.
Yoo Yeon-seok visited the SBS "My Little Old Boy" studio to fulfill a viewership pledge from the variety program 'If there's a chance'. Yoo Yeon-seok said, "I couldn't not show up after they did that," expressing his loyalty in appearing to keep his promise.
Yoo Yeon-seok, who has worked with both masters of variety shows Yu Jae-seok and Shin Dong-yeob, answered when asked about the difference between the two: "I meet Jae-seok hyung outdoors, but I've never met Dong-yeob hyung standing up," prompting laughter from Shin Dong-yeob and the cast.
He added, "I did variety shows with the older brother and he was always sitting. I have no memory of doing variety standing up," wittily revealing Shin Dong-yeob's distinctive seated variety style.
In response to Seo Jang-hoon's question, "Not 'If there's a chance' but if a real different variety show came. Shin Dong-yeob? Yu Jae-seok? If you had to do it with one of the two, who would it be?", Yoo Yeon-seok replied cleverly, "Can't I do it with both of them?"
He went on to say, "Since I'm doing pro work with Jae-seok hyung, (Shin Dong-yeob) hyung," naming Shin Dong-yeob as his partner. Yoo Yeon-seok suggested he would like to do a travel variety show that goes outside with Shin Dong-yeob, but Shin Dong-yeob responded, "A very mischievous and racy program," which both embarrassed Yoo Yeon-seok and blew up the set.
