Park Ji-min of "1st place" revealed the story of being unable to sing due to hypothyroidism.
In the fourth episode of MBC variety show "1st place," which aired on the 8th, a "line-up match" was held to determine the top five who would advance to the "head-to-head match."
Last week she sang Auz's "Drowning" but finished last due to poor condition. That day Park Ji-min said, "I was angry at myself. Everything I have built up until now was ruined by that one stage," expressing her feelings.
Above all, Park Ji-min said, "The truth is I haven't been doing music or singing for about three years. Now I have hypothyroidism," and said she is still undergoing treatment.
She added, "I would just suddenly collapse, feel drowsy, swell a bit, have insomnia and various health problems all at once," and confessed, "I had vocal cord nodules many times, not just once or twice. I tried to make sounds but my vocal cords wouldn't come together. Notes I usually don't miss sounded unstable, pitches slipped and it was frustrating."
She went on, "I took a long break from singing and struggled a lot. There was a time when I wondered, 'Is music not my path?'" and she teared up.
