"Thai K-pop rising star" Rina has made a sudden join to sing an OST for a daily prime-time drama.
Thai-born rookie Rina was chosen as the vocalist for the KBS1 daily drama Marie and Her Three Daddies OST track "My universe" (My universe), completed recording work, and the song was released on the 8th.
"My universe" is an upbeat pop band–style love song that highlights Rina's rhythmical vocals and delicate nuances of expression. It carries the message "let's entrust our bodies to this moment, let go of past fears and move forward together," and features an upbeat guitar riff and Rina's vibrant vocals that linger in the ear.
It is a joint work by composers Ko Byung-sik and Lee Hyung-sung and Buzzer Beater, who have worked with numerous K-pop artists on OSTs and albums, maximizing Rina's charm. In particular, Ko Byung-sik participated directly in the chorus, showing musical chemistry with Rina.
Born in 2011, Rina was selected from a highly competitive K-pop audition in Thailand and began trainee life in Korea. Last year she made her first entrance with the film "Replay" OST. While she is currently sweating toward a girl group debut, she showcased her vocal ability through a daily drama OST.
The drama Marie and Her Three Daddies (directed by Seo Yong-su, written by Kim Hong-joo) unfolds with the plot of Mari's chaotic search for her dads, depicting the birth of an unusual family whose bonds are stronger than blood and more persistent than sperm. Park Eunhye, Ryu Jin, Kong Jeong-hwan, Geum Bo-ra and Kang Shin-Il formed a perfect acting combination as the male and female leads.
A Rosebud representative for the OST production said, "Rina is expected to grow as a multientertainer who shows talent in various fields including dance and singing," noting, "This OST work can be seen as part of a series of processes that show her vocal ability," and paid attention to Rina's growth.
KBS1 daily drama Marie and Her Three Daddies OST Rina's "My universe" was released through music sites at 12 p.m. on the 8th.
