Red Velvet member Wendy's heartwarming good deed is warming up the internet.
On the 8th, videos and photos circulated on online communities and social media showing Wendy making a surprise appearance at a fan's wedding and singing a congratulatory song.
The fan is said to have supported Wendy for a long time since Red Velvet's debut. In particular, Wendy's appearance that day was reportedly a surprise event kept secret from the bride, which made it even more moving.
In the released video, Wendy appears calling the fan's name affectionately and offers sincere congratulations. She opened her remarks saying, "I should keep my greeting short, but there are so many memories that I think my comment will be a little long. Seeing the bride, I feel like I'm going to cry."
She continued, "This is a fan I first met when I debuted on Aug. 1, 2014. At the time she was a high school senior and came to many schedules holding Red Velvet's symbolic color candy or vitamins to cheer us on," she recalled. She added that over time the fan conveyed moments of her life such as "I might not be able to come often because I have to take the college entrance exam," "I got into university," "I got a job," and "I got a boyfriend," which moved the audience.
In particular, Wendy revealed that the fan once asked, "If I get married later, could you sing a congratulatory song?" and she promised, "Of course I would sing for you." Later, during album activities in September last year the fan asked, "Unnie, I'm getting married. Is that promise of the congratulatory song still valid?" Wendy replied, "I came to keep that promise," turning the venue into a sea of tears.
Wendy also said on her fan communication platform that day, "I have an important schedule today, after that I have one vocal lesson and then I have plans tonight." The "important schedule" Wendy mentioned was revealed to be attending the fan's wedding, making it even more touching.
Afterward, Wendy gifted the fan the track "Chapter You" from her third solo mini album released in September last year as the congratulatory song, blessing the fan's new beginning.
When the story became known, netizens also reacted warmly. Responses included, "This is truly a congratulatory song they will remember for life," "Can the relationship between a fan and an idol be this warm?," "Wendy really seems like an angel," and "It's more moving that she still remembers the fan she met at debut."
Meanwhile, Wendy recently concluded the 2025-26 WENDY 1st WORLD TOUR 'W:EALIVE' ENCORE successfully and met global fans.
