Pefoni Music, the agency of group rock band Jannabi, disclosed the results of severe legal punishment against an offender who had committed long-term stalking and sexual crimes targeting artist Choi Jeong-hoon.
Pefoni Music announced on the afternoon of the 6th via its official social media that the complaint case against a malicious offender who invaded artist Choi Jeong-hoon's personal space and surroundings has been finally confirmed.
According to the agency, the offender repeatedly posted secret comments containing threats of murder, demands for private meetings, and abusive language hundreds of times on the Naver blog 'Jeongchun' operated by Choi Jeong-hoon. It was also revealed that the offender continued unilateral stalking behavior such as coming to the vicinity of the agency to make these actions known.
Accordingly, Pefoni Music appointed the Hanjoong law firm as legal counsel and filed a complaint on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking and of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (obscenity using communication media) for posting writings and photos that caused sexual humiliation.
During the investigation the offender was identified, and provisional measures such as a ban on approaching to protect the victim were also imposed. The court finally confirmed a sentence of a 5 million won fine and an order to complete a stalking treatment program for the offender in this case.
A representative of the agency said, "This measure is a stern warning to an offender who continuously caused mental distress by using the artist's personal space," and emphasized, "We will in principle respond strongly without any settlement or leniency to any acts that violate the artist's personal rights, such as defamation, insults, and the spread of false information."
The agency added that it continuously documents malicious posts through fans' reports and its own monitoring, and will do its best to ensure the artist can focus on activities in a stable environment.

We are announcing the results of the complaint case handled through Hanjoong law firm, which serves as our legal counsel.
There were facts that hundreds of unilateral secret comments containing abusive language, demands for private meetings, threats of murder, and the artist's photos were posted on the Naver blog 'Jeongchun' directly operated by Jannabi's Choi Jeong-hoon. We filed a complaint on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking because stalking acts such as coming near the agency building and notifying others continued. In addition, we filed a complaint on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (obscenity using communication media) for persistently posting writings and photos in secret comments that caused sexual humiliation or disgust and delivering them to others.
During the investigation the offender was identified, and provisional measures such as a ban on approaching were imposed to protect the victim. This measure concerns a representative offender who continuously caused mental distress by using the secret comment function of the artist's personal Naver blog, and a 5 million won fine and an order to complete a stalking treatment program have been finally confirmed.
Going forward, we will actively pursue legal action against defamation, insults, the spread of false information, obscene acts using communication media, and other harms caused by malicious online posts, and in principle we will hold offenders strictly accountable without any settlement or leniency.
