Actor Lee Jae-ryong was arrested after fleeing following a drunk driving incident.
On the 7th, according to News1, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul is investigating Lee Jae-ryong for violating the Road Traffic Act (failure to take measures after an accident, etc.).
Earlier that day at around 2 a.m., Lee Jae-ryong is accused of driving near Samseong Jungang Station on Seoul Subway Line 9, crashing into a central divider and fleeing the scene. It is reported that no one was injured in the accident.
After the accident, Lee Jae-ryong parked his vehicle at his home, went to an acquaintance's house, and was later arrested by the police. His blood alcohol concentration at the alcohol test was reported to be at the level for license suspension, and police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
This is Lee Jae-ryong's second drunk driving incident. He had his license revoked after being booked in 2003 on charges of causing an accident while driving under the influence and refusing an alcohol test. Separately, in 2019 Lee Jae-ryong received a suspended prosecution disposition after damaging a bowling alley sign at a location in Gangnam District, Seoul, while intoxicated.
With public opinion souring over the continued drinking incidents, the fallout is affecting his wife, Yoo Ho-jeong. Yoo Ho-jeong has been appearing in the KBS2 weekend drama "Recipe For Love," which began airing on Jan. 31. This marks Yoo Ho-jeong's return after 11 years, and it is also a work that drew attention as her first acting role in a long time since SBS's "I Hear Your Voice."
While Yoo Ho-jeong has returned to acting after a long hiatus and is receiving praise, news of her husband Lee Jae-ryong's drunk driving accident has also prompted sympathetic reactions toward him.
Meanwhile, Lee Jae-ryong and Yoo Ho-jeong married in 1995 and have one son and one daughter.
