French-born broadcaster Fabien revealed his recent whereabouts after a long time and confessed he had gone through a difficult period.
Fabien posted a video on his personal YouTube channel on the 7th to share his recent news.
In a video titled "the reason I disappeared all this time," he explained the gap. In fact, it was about 10 months since Fabien last uploaded a video to YouTube in May of last year.
In the meantime, regarding the hiatus Fabien said, "as you probably expected, I went through a somewhat difficult time last year. While going through that hard time, I temporarily stopped YouTube, broadcasting, work, and even meeting people," he confessed.
In particular, he emphasized, "while going through that difficult period, I felt I had to return to my original intention. I asked myself, what do I like the most? When am I the happiest? The answer was Korean culture and Korean history."
So Fabien challenged himself by taking the national tour guide interpreter exam, hoping to turn the hard time into a springboard. Although Fabien has been working as a guide at the National Museum of Korean History for eight years, the exam was by no means easy for him. In particular, because he had to take the test in English, he even took the TOEIC exam.
After about a year of studying, Fabien finally became a certified tour guide interpreter. He said, "I really studied hard for a year and learned a lot about Korea and feel I have grown closer to Korea. It feels a bit nearer," drawing warm reactions from fans.
Above all, he said emphatically, "thanks to you, I gained great strength, and the reason I could endure and not give up during that difficult time was the thought that someday I could meet my subscribers," he said.
