Actor Koo Hye-sun's hair roller product, which she personally developed, has drawn attention by selling out despite price controversy.
On the 6th, Koo Hye-sun announced the sales news on her SNS, saying, "Kakao Gift KOOROLL (Kooroll) is sold out. I will greet you with a new product. Thank you."
Earlier, Koo Hye-sun revealed the official sales page for the hair roller product she participated in developing. The product was sold at 13,000 won for one and 25,000 won for a 2-piece set.
However, since most ordinary hair rollers sold on the market are priced at a few hundred won to around 1,000 won, some netizens criticized the price as excessively high. In particular, there were reactions that it was burdensome because it is similar in price to functional rechargeable hair rollers.
As the controversy spread, Koo Hye-sun personally explained, emphasizing the product's distinctiveness. She said, "Unlike conventional round hair rollers, the product reduces more than 80% of plastic," and added, "Unlike round hair rollers that tangle and soil hair, it can be unfolded to easily remove hair, and it is durable so it can be used semi-permanently."
Regarding the price controversy, she explained, "Because the initial production quantity was not large, the cost is high, so the current price is set somewhat high," and added, "We plan to make it possible for consumers to purchase without burden through future discount events."
She also encouraged product purchases, saying, "If you consider the environment, please use it."
