According to the agency, the perpetrator continuously posted secret comments containing threats to kill, demands for private meetings, profanity, and the artist's photos hundreds of times on the Naver blog 'Jeongchun' operated by Choi Jeong-hoon. It was also revealed that the perpetrator continued unilateral stalking by coming as close as the agency's vicinity and making these actions known.
Peponee Music appointed the law firm Hanjung as its representative and filed a complaint for violation of the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking and for violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (use of communication media for obscenity) over posting texts and photos that caused sexual shame.
During the investigation the perpetrator was identified, and provisional measures such as bans on approaching the victim were imposed to protect the victim. The court finalized a sentence of a fine of 5 million won and an order to complete a stalking treatment program for the perpetrator in this case.
A representative of the agency said, "This measure is a stern warning to a perpetrator who used the artist's personal space to continuously inflict mental suffering," and emphasized, "We will, in principle, respond strongly to any act that infringes on the artist's personal rights, such as defamation, insult, or dissemination of false information, with no settlements or leniency."
The agency added that it continuously documents malicious posts through fans' reports and its own monitoring, and will do its best to ensure the artist can focus on activities in a stable environment.
