Actor Kim Kangwoo revealed recent news that he is challenging himself to gain weight for a role.
On the 6th, KBS 2TV 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' (hereafter Fun-Staurant) featured Kim Kangwoo explaining his secrets to steady weight management and his plan to bulk up.
That day Kim Kangwoo stepped on a scale to check his weight. The measurement was 76kg. Although the figure was not much different from usual, he appeared to be dissatisfied.
Kim Kangwoo said, "While filming a historical drama this time, I wanted to try gaining a little weight." Recently cast as Kim Chun-chu in KBS's epic historical drama "Munmu," he said, "In historical dramas, wearing hanbok looks better if you have some presence," and explained, "If you are thin you can look lacking in weight. I want to gain about 3 to 4kg."
Surprisingly, the food Kim Kangwoo chose to gain weight was ramen. He had said, "I eat two packs of ramen a year," and to everyone's surprise he showed himself adding tomatoes to ramen for health and cooking it to eat.
However, Kim Kangwoo confessed, "I originally like ramen," adding, "As a teenager I used to cook two packs and eat them, and I've tried eating up to three."
His sister-in-law, model Han Hye-jin, chimed in, "My brother-in-law is originally someone who eats a lot," and Kim Kangwoo's wife, Han Mu-young, also said, "All my in-laws are big eaters. I was really shocked when I first saw it," causing laughter.<
