'former Chungju man' Kim Seon-tae thanked his 1 million subscribers and released a lying-down broadcast video.
On the afternoon of the 6th, the channel 'Kim Seon-tae' uploaded a second video titled 'Thank you for 1 million subscribers.'
Saying he would approach subscribers with humility and a low posture, Kim Seon-tae, who held a lying-down broadcast, said "I'm thinking of creating a channel specialized in promotion" and "If I continue to promote, revenue will be generated. But if I continue to pursue private gain, this will be criticized again," and he declared he would donate.
He continued, "Usually agencies propose a 70-30 split. I get 70, the agency gets 30, so I changed my thinking a bit. I will split all future YouTube revenue 70-30. I will take 70 and donate 30. Of course expenses must be deducted. I have to eat and live too. (laughs) Let's deduct expenses and split 70-30. Instead of giving it to the agency, I'll return it to you," he said.
Kim Seon-tae said, "I will regularly collect and create donation content once a month or once a quarter. I don't plan to do it often. If I do it often, it somehow becomes disgusting to myself. (laughs) I have a mind to contribute to society, but I'm not an angel to that extent, so I don't want it to look like that, and I donate for myself. I donate to be at ease. You can think, 'Ah, this guy is trying to take some public-spirited actions' to that extent," he said.
Meanwhile, Assistant Deputy Director Kim Seon-tae operated Chungju's official YouTube channel 'ChungTV' and received much interest and love under the name 'Chungju man.' He led the new media team under the Director for Public Relations at Chungju City Hall and gained popularity by producing parody videos, among others. That channel recorded a current high of 970,000 subscribers, and recognizing his achievements, he was promoted to grade 6 at the end of 2023 after seven years of appointment.
Then last month he suddenly submitted his resignation after nine years of public service and left Chungju City Hall, becoming free. It was reported that he received a hiring offer from the Blue House thereafter, but he dismissed it as "just a tea time." He recently launched a personal channel and chose life as a creator. The YouTube channel 'Kim Seon-tae' surpassed 1 million subscribers in just three days, drawing great attention.<
