Actress Uhm Ji-won personally revealed recent news, reporting that she experienced an accident during a trip to Japan and underwent emergency surgery. Fortunately, she is recovering and undergoing rehabilitation.
On the 5th, Uhm Ji-won posted a vlog video on her YouTube channel titled "An unprecedented incident during travel, Uhm Ji-won emergency surgery."
At the start of the video, she said, "Some of you may have read about it in articles, but I had a serious accident at the start of the new year," and added, "But I am recovering safely now, so please do not worry, and I hope my subscribers always stay healthy."
Uhm Ji-won candidly described the circumstances of the accident. She explained, "I went to Japan during the Lunar New Year holiday, and my shoe got caught in a manhole in a drainage channel, fixing my foot in place while my ankle twisted," and added, "The impact completely shattered the bones in my foot."
Fortunately, after the holiday ended she returned to Seoul and was able to receive treatment, and she said she later underwent about two hours of surgery at the hospital.
Revealing the rehabilitation process, she recalled the harrowing accident, saying, "The large bone was shattered into pieces and the small bones were broken, so everything was fixed," and said that her leg is gradually healing and she is focusing on recovery while continuing rehabilitation at the hospital.
Uhm Ji-won's characteristically positive attitude also drew attention. She said, "While hospitalized I realized something important," and joked, "People talk a lot about golden spoons and silver spoons, but being a muscle spoon is best. The most important thing in life seems to be muscles," then said she decided to become a reliable muscle spoon and emphasized the importance of health management.
She also expressed gratitude toward the production staff who helped with filming. Uhm Ji-won joked, "I'm grateful they took care of me like professional caregivers, but honestly receiving care is a bit embarrassing," and conveyed to fans, "You must have been very shocked seeing my injured state, but I'm recovering well, so please don't worry."
At the end of the video, she said with a bright smile, "I will continue to share my recovery while doing rehabilitation."
