the group Fifty Fifty's agency Attract also lost the copyright lawsuit over "Cupid" in the second trial.
on the 5th, according to legal sources, the Seoul Central District Court, Civil Division 5-2 (Na) held the sentencing date for the appeal in the copyright confirmation lawsuit that Attract filed against The Givers and dismissed Attract's appeal.
Attract filed a lawsuit in 2024 seeking transfer, claiming that The Givers' copyright property rights for "Cupid" belonged to them. in May of last year, the first trial court ruled, "the plaintiff's claims are without merit and are all dismissed."
At that time, Attract argued that the copyright of "Cupid" belonged to them, but the court recognized that The Givers were the parties to the copyright transfer contract and that all substantive actions such as contract conclusion, negotiations, and expense bearing were carried out through The Givers. in particular, the court ruled that "contract interpretation must be made according to the wording of the contract, not the parties' intentions," and found it clear that The Givers held the creative rights.
Attract appealed thereafter, but this was dismissed in the second trial as well.
meanwhile, Attract won partially in a damages lawsuit it filed against The Givers in January.
