Actor Won Hyun-joon is set to appear in SBS's "Kim Bujang," showcasing an overwhelming, heavy charisma.
Won Hyun-joon has been confirmed to appear in SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Kim Bujang" (written by Nam Dae-joong / directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun), a drama about an ordinary father and small-time citizen Kim Bujang (So Jisub) who, in order to find his beloved daughter, reveals a secret of his that must never be known and risks everything to save his daughter, and is based on the webtoon of the same name.
In the drama, Won Hyun-joon plays the director general of the National Special Missions Bureau, Kang Guk-cheol. Kang Guk-cheol is a principled man who prioritizes national security above all and possesses cool judgment. On the surface he seems cheerful and mild, but the character has a rougher personality than it appears, and with Won Hyun-joon's heavy charisma, the Kang Guk-cheol character is expected to be portrayed in three dimensions. In particular, he, who had been responsible for monitoring the returned-to-society "Kim Bujang," will relentlessly track the now out-of-control Kim Bujang, injecting taut tension into the drama.
So far, Won Hyun-joon has demonstrated steady acting and strong character interpretation across genres, including the films "Gwishi" and "Daewoebi," and the dramas "Walking On Thin Ice," "Pine: Bumpkins," "Hyper Knife," and "Woo Ssi Queen." Especially in "Pine: Bumpkins," in which he played the Busan wrestling coach "Coach Kim," he livened the drama with a natural Busan dialect, and in "Walking On Thin Ice," as the boss of a drug trafficking organization, "Do Gyu-man," he delivered a rough aura and chilling terror that heightened immersion and left a deep impression.
