Group WEi member Kang Seok-hwa grants musical "6 o'clock leaving work".
Kang Seok-hwa has been cast as Jang Bogo in the original musical "6 o'clock leaving work," which opens May 1 at the Yegrin Theater in Daehangno, Seoul.
"6 o'clock leaving work" depicts the story of employees from the publicity team 2 at the confectionery company Afternoon forming the office band "6 o'clock leaving work" to save the fading brand "Autumn Moon Bread." Live band performances in which the actors play instruments themselves and an audience-participation curtain call are the show's signatures.
In the play, Jang Bogo is a timid temporary employee who once dreamed of being a singer-songwriter and, as the vocalist of the office band "6 o'clock leaving work," is a character who rediscovers his dream. As WEi's main vocal, Kang Seok-hwa is expected to display a powerful vocal ability and a strong stage presence.
Earlier, Kang Seok-hwa proved his stage command by playing Egon Schiele in the original musical Klimt: Into the Time of the Soul. Furthermore, through this "6 o'clock leaving work," he is expected to show deeper musical abilities and increase audience immersion.
Meanwhile, the original musical "6 o'clock leaving work," featuring Kang Seok-hwa, runs from May 1 to July 26 at the Yegrin Theater in Daehangno, Seoul.
