'Makdwaemeok-eun Yeongaessi' actor Shim Jin-bo died suddenly of a heart attack eight years ago.
The late Shim Jin-bo died of a heart attack at his home on Mar. 5, 2018. He was 42.
The late actor was living alone at the time, and his mother, who visited his home, found him, adding to the sorrow. Because the death was sudden, colleagues and fans were also unable to hide their grief.
After graduating from Yonsei University with a degree in environmental engineering, the late Shim Jin-bo entered the broadcasting and entertainment department at Seoul Institute of the Arts to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He later worked on musical and theater stages, and in 2011 gained popularity through the cable channel tvN drama 'Makdwaemeok-eun Yeongaessi season 9'. Appearing with his real name as a character, he also brought warm laughter with the nickname 'Janmyeolchi'.
When the family of 'Makdwaemeok-eun Yeongaessi' learned of the sad news, they quickly visited the funeral hall to share their grief with the bereaved family. Han Sang-jae, the producer who directed 'Makdwaemeok-eun Yeongaessi season 9', recalled the late Shim Jin-bo, saying, "He was an actor whose passion for acting was so great that he would talk about acting with the cast for hours. Above all, he was a very kind-hearted actor. He was close with the actors and was remembered as someone who was friendly even with the youngest staff on set. He was also an actor who took his fellow actors' advice to heart and practiced."
Actress Koo Hye-sun, who was a classmate of the late actor at Seoul Institute of the Arts, expressed her condolences via SNS, posting "My beloved classmate from group 03, Shim Jin-bo. I love you."
