Group VERIVERY member Kang Min captivated viewers by vividly imprinting the charm of a character who is a high school student with superpowers and full of curiosity about an unknown world.
Kitz premium short-form drama "Jump Boy LIVE" depicts the coming-of-age story of a youth who becomes a "live hero" through the teleportation ability that a science high school outsider, who dreams of being an influencer and is the class loser, Wooyeonly gains by chance. The "Kim I-on" role played by Kang Min is a three-dimensional character who was an outsider with little presence at school and on social media but suddenly becomes a super-popular influencer after gaining teleportation powers from a meteorite fragment he picked up one day.
In "Jump Boy LIVE," which has all episodes released up to episode 50 on Kitz, Kang Min drew attention from the first scene of doing an SNS live with a selfie stick, climbing to a high place overlooking the city to directly watch a meteor shower late at night, vividly showing the facets of a curious character.
From the first scene, Kang Min, perfectly immersed in "I-on," flexibly portrayed the dramatic transformation from a science high outsider who teleports with a meteorite he picked up on the night of the meteor shower to a power influencer who attracts attention, raising the work's immersion with lively expressions and a bright voice as he rapidly changes overnight.
Especially in the computer-generated scenes where the surreal ability to move instantly regardless of time and place, from Europe to the Arctic, is depicted because of the meteorite he holds, Kang Min highlighted those scenes with richly realistic reactions and a variety of expressions, vividly illuminating the work's mysterious and delightful flow.
Viewers who watched the work also responded, "Kang Min's radiant visuals and energetic yet positive charm fill the screen in each episode, making it enjoyable to watch," and he has received praise as an actor whose appeal is optimized not only for long-form but also for short-form platforms.
Earlier, Kang Min made his acting debut as Joo Seon-jae, a dark character with exceptional guitar skills and genius composition ability, in the web drama "If you just move your finger," and in his next work "Jump Boy LIVE" he smoothly continues a polar opposite transformation as I-on, full of bright and positive energy, prompting curiosity about the full story of the previous work and anticipation for the charm he will show in his next project.
Meanwhile, Kang Min began his solo artist activities solidly by successfully completing solo fan meetings in major Asian cities including Hong Kong, Osaka, Yokohama and Taipei, starting with his Seoul concert in January.
