He learned that Sun Gyu-tae (Ryu Seung-soo) had approached him with the intention of claiming Sun Woo-jin (Ha Joon)'s death benefit, and when Woo Hyun-jin also suffered from his misdeeds, Sun Tae-hyung burst into a resentful outcry. The truth he encountered at the police station delivered another shock: Sun Gyu-tae had a fraud conviction and had been incarcerated until recently. Moreover, he heard an unexpected story from a colleague who had worked with Sun Woo-jin there. Sun Tae-hyung's self-reproach showed no sign of stopping. Remembering that he had not answered Sun Woo-jin's call on the day of the accident, he belatedly wondered whether he might have intended to tell him about Sun Gyu-tae's release.
