TOMORROW X TOGETHER Yeonjun captivated viewers' ears with his distinctive tone.
Yeonjun appeared on "Limousine Service," uploaded on the YouTube channel KBS Kpop on the 3rd. Starting with "Let Me Tell You (feat. Daniela of KATSEYE)," a track from his first solo album NO LABELS: PART 01 released last November, he drew attention by presenting songs from various genres.
Yeonjun sang "Let Me Tell You (feat. Daniela of KATSEYE)" to piano accompaniment. The sweet arrangement and polished voice stood out. He briefly set aside the moniker "K-pop's representative dancer" and showcased a surprising charm as a ballad singer with an enchanting tone.
Looking back on his solo activities, Yeonjun said, "It was fun and overwhelming to be able to make my own music. It was a precious album for finding myself." NO LABELS: PART 01 entered No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard main album chart, the Billboard 200, and remained on the chart for two consecutive weeks, leaving a meaningful achievement. When asked about plans for PART 02, he hinted, "I'm preparing it. I think you will be able to see it within this year." Yeonjun, who participates in rap making and lyric writing, said, "When I write rap, I try to express it as creatively as possible. I get a lot of inspiration from movies."
That day Yeonjun added appeal with various cover stages. He stably performed a wide range of genres, from Troye Sivan's TALK ME DOWN and Chrisette Michele's Love Is You, which he often sang as a trainee, to Ra.D's I'm In Love, VV's Bookstore oppa, literature girl, and Lee Sora's As I First Felt It. Host Lee Mujin marveled, "There is a big difference from the stages seen in the media. I discovered a completely new side."
Meanwhile, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, which includes Yeonjun, will make a comeback on April 13 with mini album 8, 7TH YEAR: ga-sideombeure jamshi barami meomchyeot-eul ttae. It is the first group album released after all members re-signed with BigHit Music last year. The long, lyrical album title evokes distinctive early tracks such as One Day, Horns Grew on My Head (CROWN) and Run Away (Run Away), which bring to mind the unique songs they showed early in their debut. The title alone of the new release, which strongly reflects the team's color, is raising expectations among listeners worldwide.
