Former Girl's Day member Hyeri denied reports that she sold a building in Samseong-dong.
On the 4th, Sublime issued an official statement saying, "The reports published today about Hyeri's real estate sale are completely untrue."
Earlier, one outlet reported that Hyeri put up for sale the building in Samseong-dong that she had owned for four years. According to the real estate industry, Hyeri put the building located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, up for sale last month for 14.5 billion won.
In August 2022, Hyeri purchased an aging multi-family house in Samseong-dong under the name of her family corporation "Empo" for 7.75 billion won. She then demolished the existing multi-family house and rebuilt it as a structure with two basement floors and six aboveground floors.
Considering the ancillary transaction expense of 450 million won at the time and construction costs of 2.5 billion won, the total acquisition cost of the building is estimated at 10.7 billion won. If it sells at the asking price, Hyeri would make approximately 4 billion won in capital gains in about four years by simple calculation.
However, after the report, Hyeri's agency Sublime denied the building sale rumors in an official statement. The agency said, "There is no fact that the property was put up for sale, and we have not even heard of the amount mentioned in the article," adding, "We express deep regret that unsubstantiated information is spreading as if it were factual. We ask that speculative reporting and spreading false information about this matter be refrained from."
Meanwhile, Hyeri currently owns one building each in Samseong-dong and Yeoksam-dong in Gangnam District. The Yeoksam-dong building was also purchased as an aging house for 4.39 billion won and rebuilt, and as of last year its market value is known to exceed 10 billion won.
