"You Quiz on the Block" historian Shin Byeong-ju talked about Danjong and Sejo, the real-life basis of the recent hit The King's Warden.
On the 4th, historian Shin Byeong-ju appeared on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" (hereinafter "You Quiz"). He, who specializes in the Joseon dynasty, said, "Prince Geumseong continued to incite rebellions. He upheld justice. He joined the Sa Yuk-shin movement to restore Danjong and, while trying to raise a militia in Sunheung, was executed. Prince Geumseong died before Danjong died," and brought up those who upheld justice until the end before Danjong's death.

Shin Byeong-ju said, "Treating Danjong's death as a suicide would be burdensome, and forcing him to take poison would be a burden on Sejo. In Yeollyeosilgiseol, Uigeumbu do-sa Wang Bang-yeon personally brought the poison but hesitated," and added, "He made a conscience declaration. It's even in the national language textbook. There is a sijo that goes, 'On a journey ten thousand li distant I parted from my lovely one, my heart having nowhere to go I sat by a stream; even that water seems unlike mine so I wept all night for my old companion.' It seems an act unworthy to Danjong. It appears to be a death caused by Sejo."
