Blackpink's mini 3rd album [DEADLINE] shot to the top of Hanteo's monthly album chart in just two and a half days after its release.
Hanteo Chart released on the 4th said that [DEADLINE] sold 1,468,894 copies to take first place. It was released at 2 p.m. on Feb. 27 and reached No. 1 on the monthly chart, following the weekly chart, with only two and a half days of counting.
It also quickly surpassed the sales of the previous release. As of the 3rd, [DEADLINE] reached sales of 1,656,977 copies, far exceeding the first-week sales record of the full-length 2nd album [BORN PINK] (1.54 million). Considering that day was the fifth day since release, it is an astonishing figure.
Explosive support from fans who had been waiting for a full-group album for about 3 years and 5 months led them to the top of the monthly chart as well as the weekly chart. After setting the record for the highest single-day sales in K-pop girl group history on the day of release, they widened the gap over the previous release in first-week counts as well, breaking their own best record.
Earlier, YG said, "Global demand for the album far exceeded initial expectations and additional production is currently underway." In particular, since Blackpink became the first K-pop girl group to be a "double million seller" with the previous release [BORN PINK], attention is focused on what new history they will make with [DEADLINE].
Meanwhile, [DEADLINE] has topped the iTunes album charts in 38 cumulative regions. The music video for the title track "GO" reached No. 1 on YouTube trending worldwide, and it has held the top spot for three consecutive days on the global popular music video chart (Feb. 27–Mar. 1).
